About

IMG_3390My name is Julie Ahmed-Jussaume and I’ve been a Spanish teacher at Nipmuc Regional High School since 2001. I love teaching, my students and learning about new cultures. Recently, I also teach a class called 21st Century Skills. I learned Spanish in high school and college, studying abroad in Quito, Ecuador during my junior year at Bowdoin. Over the past 10 years, I’ve traveled with groups of students through a program called World Challenge Expeditions. We visited Costa Rica, Argentina, Madagascar, Peru, Mexico & Belize, and Ecuador & the Galapagos. Each adventure was a month filled with backpacking, community service and cultural exploration. Most recently, I was part of an exploratory group who traveled to San Sebastián, Spain, in order to create an exchange program with a school there.   Nowadays, though, I tend to stay a lot closer to home and spend time with my husband and beautiful baby boy, Noah!
